The Story

Ganpati comes home for ten days, and the backdrop behind him is what everyone photographs. These banana leaves are made of wipe-clean plastic, cut in the shape of a real leaf, and you can pin them to a board for a full backdrop or lay them flat across the table. Set them up once and they hold their colour through all ten days. Pack them away after visarjan and they come out looking the same next year.

What's Included:

  • Artificial banana leaves
  • Each leaf is 11 inches wide and 22.5 inches long
  • Made of plastic, shaped and veined like a real banana leaf
  • Nothing to assemble, they arrive ready to pin or lay out

How many leaves do I need?

  • A full backdrop like the one in the photos takes about 25 leaves
  • A smaller mandap or a single wall panel takes about 16
  • To drape a table or a chowki, 6 to 10 is enough
  • Overlap them like roof tiles so no gaps show through

Care

  • Wipe with a damp cloth after visarjan and store them flat
  • No wilting, no browning at the edges and nothing to throw away
