About this product

An urli of water with candles floating in it is the easiest thing to put by the front door at Diwali, and the hardest to keep lit. These switch themselves on the moment they touch water and stay glowing all evening, however much the door opens. Crowd forty close together in one wide urli, drop two or three into each of a dozen small bowls around it, and the whole table lifts. No wax on the water and nothing to relight.

Two shapes

  • T-Light Floating is the plain round tea light, the one crowded into the urli in the photographs
  • Rose Floating is moulded as an open rose, better scattered a few at a time in a shallow bowl where the shape reads
  • Both work the same way and both come with the battery in

What's Included:

  • Floating LED candles in your chosen shape, sold from 12 pieces onwards
  • Each candle runs on a CR2032 watch battery, and the battery is included
  • They light up on their own when placed in water
  • Nothing to assemble, drop them in and they glow

How many do I need?

  • 12 for a single urli or a wide glass bowl by the door
  • 25 to float a large urli and edge the rangoli around it
  • 40 to fill one wide urli properly, crowded close rather than spread thin
  • 60 for the urli plus small bowls scattered down the table
  • 100 for the full pooja setting in the photographs, one large urli crowded with forty and two or three in each of the bowls around it

Where to use them

  • Crowded into a wide urli as the centre of the pooja table
  • Two or three to a small glass bowl, repeated around the idols at different heights
  • Floating in an urli by the front door with marigold petals
  • Around the rangoli, where a real flame would be walked into
  • On the dining table or the console in a glass bowl

Care

  • Dry them after Diwali and take the batteries out before storing
  • No wax floating on the water and nothing to relight through the evening

Questions, answered

T-Light Floating is the plain round tea light, the one crowded into the urli in the photographs. Rose Floating is moulded as an open rose and reads better scattered a few at a time in a shallow bowl. Both light up in water and both come with the battery in.
Place them in water and they switch on by themselves. There is no flame, no smoke and no wax.
One wide urli crowded with about forty t-lights makes the centre, then two or three in each of a dozen or more small glass bowls set around it at different heights. That is roughly a hundred candles in all.
No. The bowls in the photographs sit on gold boxes and clear acrylic risers to build height, and those are styling props, not part of this product. Any small boxes under a cloth do the same job.
Yes. Each runs on a CR2032 watch battery which is included and replaces through the tab underneath.
About 12 for a single urli or a wide glass bowl, and 40 to fill a large one properly. They look best crowded close together rather than spread thin.
They are designed to switch on in water, so an urli or a bowl is what they are for. For a dry surface, an LED diya or tea light is the better choice.
Yes. Dry them after Diwali and take the batteries out before storing.
