About this product

Diwali needs more diyas than anyone ever has, and the ones on the balcony blow out by nine. These are moulded like a clay diya with a flame that flickers, and they light from a watch battery that is already fitted. Line them along the rangoli, set three to a wall niche, or run them down the dining table. No oil to top up, nothing to relight, and the same set comes out every year.

Two flame sizes

  • Small Flame is the everyday diya, the one banked in rows or lined along a rangoli where the count matters more than the size of each light
  • Big Flame is 2 inches across with a taller flame, worth it where a diya is seen on its own, in a wall niche, on a tray or down the centre of a table
  • Both are flameless and both come with the battery fitted

What's Included:

  • LED diyas in your chosen flame size, sold from 12 pieces onwards
  • Each diya runs on a CR2032 watch battery, and the battery is included
  • Batteries last about 48 hours and swap out through the tab underneath
  • Nothing to assemble, switch them on and place them

How many do I need?

  • 12 for the pooja thali and a window ledge
  • 25 to edge a rangoli and line the entrance
  • 40 to carry the balcony railing and the stairs as well
  • 60 for a banked pooja table, rows in front and more raised behind
  • 100 or more for every ledge in the house, which is what most people underestimate
  • 3 to a wall niche is the spacing in the photographs, so count the niches and multiply

Where to use them

  • Along the rangoli at the entrance, where nobody has to step around a flame
  • Three to a niche along a wall of alcoves
  • Ringed around a flower rangoli or a brass lamp on a tray
  • On the balcony railing and window ledges, safe in the wind
  • Down the dining table, or up the stairs one to a step

Care

  • Take the batteries out when they are not in use and store them in their box
  • No oil to refill, no soot on the ledge and nothing to throw away
